As part and parcel to our Annual Public Open House and BBQ on Thursday, July 25, 2019, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm, we will be presenting the operational Landscape Fire Management Plan, specifically discussing the southern hillside area visible from Burns Lake, that is a very high priority. Burns Lake Community Forest is committed to seeing this project come to fruition. We are excited about this comprehensive plan that supports and validates our efforts in fire ecosystem-based management and excited that we have a plan that gives us direction to address local concerns for community protection. With the memory of the 2018 fire season, and a very early start in 2019, (Lejac Fire) just outside of Fraser Lake, we know that reducing the risk of fire through fuel mitigation is a top priority.
The Open House is held at our COMFOR office. We hope to see you there, where we can go through the Tactical Plans.
