NOTICE OF AMENDMENT
Burns Lake Community Forest Ltd is proposing to amend its Forest Stewardship Plan (FSP) for the K1A Licence. This amendment was initiated by Burns Lake Community Forest, for implementing components of the Mountain Pine Beetle Mitigation project and recognizing the significant public risk associated with the dead and blowndown Pine stands surrounding our communities.

The purpose of the amendment is:
1) To comply with legislated requirements to amend the FSP
2) To comply with Principles 1, 3, and 4 of Forest Stewardship Council Certification

For the purposes of the scenic areas established in pursuant to section 7(2) of the Government Action regulations,

a) Burns Lake Community Forest is proposing an amendment to its result and strategy as it pertains to scenic area management within the K1A license area.

In accordance with section 18 of the Forest and Range Practices Act, (FRPA) and section 20 of the Forest Planning and Practices Regulation (FPPR) and Management Plan #3-Forest Program Objectives for Public Consultation and Engagement, the FSP amendment is available for public review and comment until January 10th, 2019.

The engagement process, information sharing/referral process is open to First Nations communities, the public, municipal governments, government agencies and other interested stakeholders.
